Not gonna lie, I have been low key getting back into my lash feels lately & thought I’d share. At first, this felt like a little step back until I decided it was the complete opposite. 🤭

Lashing is truly what started it all for me. It’s what got the ball rolling and what got my business to the point and reach of clients and success that it did.

As many of you already know, I had stopped promoting lashes almost 2 years ago due to dealing with a HUGE burn out from jam packing my schedule 6 days/week and overbooking myself to the point of exhaustion. This even led me to refer out some of my clients to other local artists that I trusted because I just couldn’t keep up with the demand. Simultaneously, I was also trying to solely focus on permanent make up so it was just a lot for me to handle all at once.

However, now that all is settled, I realize how much I miss lashing regularly. For 5 years now, lashing had been a safe space for me, a place where I can just fully disconnect from the busy noise of every day life and be present in the moment while just focusing on isolation, dipping, fanning & placing. It’s almost meditative and therapeutic for me and I LOVE it. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Color Correction + cover up:

My client came to me with previous work done elsewhere, and in the case that the old work is light enough, a color correction + cover-up MAY be possible.
 This allows me to neutralize the unwanted tones and rebuild an even base before going in with the cover up.

If I could give you one key piece of information that will help you understand correction work, it’s this:

To perform a correction effectively, we must choose a pigment of the opposite shade on the color wheel from what the client currently has, while also factoring in their skin color and undertone. This is what allows us to neutralize any unwanted hues before going in with the target color.

Do keep in mind that correction work requires patience, technique, as well as a deep understanding of how healed pigment behaves in the skin. It is also imperative to manage our clients’ expectations when it comes to these types of procedures because although results may be significantly improved, perfection is near impossible.

During her first appointment, I focused on neutralizing and remapping to create an even base. This also allowed me to see my clients’ brows fully healed before proceeding with the cover up. This way, we got to focus on target color + strokes at our second session.

If you have unwanted previous work from an inexperienced artist that needs correcting, choosing an artist that understands color theory and cover-ups is crucial in the case that you do not need to go through removal first.

The Truth About Hair Strokes:

My client had been wanting to get her brows done for a while because her natural brows were lacking shape and symmetry.

That said, I get a lot of clients coming in thinking they only want a hair stroke effect and although it’s one my absolute favorite styles to create, the reality is that it’s not always the best solution for everyone.

If you already have thick, course brow hair (like my client) but are looking to improve your shape and symmetry, hair strokes alone will get lost within the existing hair and they won’t show through. In these cases, a combination of techniques including hair strokes will often times be recommended in order for the work to blend in seamlessly with your natural brows.

Here, we were able to do hair strokes in the front of her brows to create a seamless transition into the shading effect.

Hair strokes only shine their brightest when a client has naturally thin and evenly sparse brows, allowing those fine, realistic strokes to stand out.

Every face, every brow, every texture is unique. That’s why choosing the right technique matters just as much as the artistry behind it.

Here, I went in with some Nano hairstrokes in the front and filled in the body of her brow with a soft shading technique.

Upon looking at this before and after, I still can’t help but be in awe of how much of an impact a proportionate set of brows can have. (Yes, even after all this time.) My client had pretty difficult brows to map as her natural bone structure was very rounded on the top section. Despite this challenge, we were still able to achieve a big improvement shape, resulting in a more balanced, symmetrical, and structured brow that not only enhances her features but acts as the perfect frame to harmonize and balance the rest of her face.

My client was fed up with having to do her brows every single morning on top of the load of tasks she already has as a working mom. She wanted something easy, low-maintenance, and that would help lighten her daily routine. Due to the lack of existing brow hairs, I decided to go with a combination of nano hair strokes and shading to fill in the sparse areas harmoniously, create a fuller and more structured effect while still keeping it natural. The result mimics the look of a softly filled in brow, but with a natural twist by encorporating hairstrokes into the mix as well.

NANO X COMBO BROWS

My client wanted a soft transformation and a little pick-me-up for her brows. Here, we were able to address some asymmetry, add natural hair strokes in the front to fill small gaps, and build a bit more depth in the tails of her brows with a soft powdered shading technique. This created the perfect balance of the natural and effortless result we all want, while still giving that filled-in look.

Je tiens également à remercier ma clientèle du plus profond de mon cœur pour un autre beau rush d’été réussi ensemble. Ça a encore été un vrai marathon, mais je me compte chanceuse d’être autant occupée.

Je sais que je dis toujours que je vais être plus active sur les réseaux (car c’est ce que j’aimerais), mais c’est difficile quand on travaille autant. Je n’ai parfois juste pas l’énergie à mettre là-dedans après une longue journée de clientes. Il y a aussi le fait que je suis rendue à un point où j’ai moins besoin de publier pour attirer de la clientèle, et j’en suis profondément reconnaissante.

Sachez que ça n’enlève rien à la passion que j’ai pour mon travail ni à la reconnaissance que j’ai envers ma clientèle.

Je me suis dit que je risque de me remettre un peu plus là-dedans à l’automne si le temps me le permet.

During her consultation, this beautiful client came in asking for Microblading. A common request since it’s the most recognized term in the brow world. But what she truly wanted was more than just hair strokes. After a full analysis of her skin, brow texture, and bone structure, I knew Microblading alone wouldn’t deliver the result she was envisioning. Instead, I recommended a soft powder brow with a touch of hairstroke detailing at the fronts — a customized hybrid technique that offers definition, structure, filled in and polished finish while staying gentle on her skin.
